Behind the Scenes: What I Actually Do Each Day in My Direct Sales Business

When people hear I work in direct sales, they often assume I just post on social media and wait for orders to roll in.
But the truth? There’s a whole rhythm, purpose, and heart behind what I do and it’s so much more than sharing pretty graphics or product photos.

So today, I wanted to pull back the curtain and show you a real look at what my day-to-day actually looks like in this business I love. Whether you’re curious about what I do, considering a similar path, or just want to know how this kind of work fits into real life (especially mom life), this is for you.

💌 Building Relationships First

At the heart of everything I do is service. I’m not here to sell a product and disappear. I’m here to help people feel better, naturally and confidently.

That looks like:

  • Checking in with customers after they receive their orders
  • Recommending personalized product routines
  • Answering questions about ingredients, clean swaps, or how to use CBD safely
  • Sending thank-you messages and reminders so people know they are seen and supported

These little touches matter. They build trust. And they remind me daily that this business isn’t about sales… it’s about impact.

📚 Educating Myself to Better Serve Others

Every day, I carve out a little time to learn. That might mean listening to a podcast while folding laundry, diving into product education, or brushing up on ingredient research.

In the world of wellness, clean beauty, and natural solutions, there’s always something new to explore. And the more I learn, the better I can simplify it for others, especially other busy moms who don’t have time to research every label or trend.

📲 Creating Content That Matters

Yes, I post on social media, but it’s not random. My content is rooted in what I’ve personally learned, used, and believe in.

Each week I create posts that:

  • Educate (think: CBD myths, ingredient swaps, wellness tips)
  • Inspire (real-life mom moments, freedom stories, encouragement)
  • Invite (sharing promotions, events, or how others can join me)

It’s never about pressure. It’s about offering value and helping someone take one step closer to living a cleaner, more empowered life.

🧠 Staying Consistent with Systems (Even as a Busy Mom)

Some days are chaos. Between homeschool, dishes, and unexpected meltdowns (from the kids… or me 😂), my business happens in the in-between moments.

That’s why I lean on simple systems:
✔️ Daily task lists
✔️ Weekly planning sessions
✔️ Dedicated work time
✔️ Content batching when I can

These help me stay on track without burning out and give me space to still be fully present as a mom.

💬 Engaging and Connecting

Social media is social. I don’t just post and ghost. I genuinely connect with people. That looks like:

  • Replying to DMs and comments
  • Celebrating wins with customers and teammates
  • Answering wellness questions
  • Connecting with other like-minded mamas and women who value clean living

These conversations are what fuel me most because they remind me I’m not just talking into the void. I’m building community.

🎉 Supporting My Team

One of my favorite parts of this business is locking arms with others who are building something meaningful too. I mentor others who are just getting started, lead team challenges, answer questions, and cheer people on every step of the way.

Seeing others find confidence, freedom, and success in this business *on their own terms* is one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever been part of.

This Business Fits Into My Life… Not the Other Way Around

What I love most is that this business doesn’t require me to sacrifice my values, my family time, or my sanity.
It’s flexible, fulfilling, and allows me to work in alignment with my heart, on my own time, with my own voice.

If you’ve ever wondered if you could do something like this: whether for the discount, the community, or the impact, I’d love to chat.
No pressure. Just an open door.

Because if I can do this in the messy middle of motherhood, you can too.

Simple Saturday: Homeschool Activity for Wellness

In the rhythm of homeschooling, Saturdays can be a sweet breath of fresh air—a day to reset, reconnect, and recharge. That’s why we love making Simple Saturday part of our weekly rhythm, where learning blends naturally with wellness. No pressure, no screens, just simple activities that support the whole child: body, mind, and heart.

This week’s Simple Saturday homeschool activity is all about wellness through sensory grounding and nature connection. It’s designed to bring calm, clarity, and connection to your day—especially helpful if your kids (or you!) have had a high-energy week.

🌿 Activity: Nature Walk & 5-Sense Grounding

Objective: Support emotional regulation, mindfulness, and sensory awareness
Time needed: 20–30 minutes
Supplies: A nature path, backyard, or even a neighborhood sidewalk; a small notebook or paper and a pencil (optional)

🧠 Step 1: The “5-4-3-2-1” Grounding Walk

As you start your walk, invite your kids to pause and observe the world around them using their senses. This is a powerful mindfulness practice that helps calm anxious minds and teaches present-moment awareness.

Ask them to name:

  • 5 things they can SEE
  • 4 things they can FEEL (like grass, wind, bark, etc.)
  • 3 things they can HEAR
  • 2 things they can SMELL
  • 1 thing they can TASTE (optional—like a mint they bring along, or simply focus on how fresh air tastes)

Let them take their time and be curious. If they want to draw or jot down what they notice, even better.

💬 Step 2: Reflect & Connect

Once home (or even right there on the walk), gather for a few minutes and chat:

  • What was your favorite thing you noticed?
  • Did you feel different after tuning into your senses?
  • What was the most surprising thing?

These reflections help build emotional intelligence and language around wellness—and often open up sweet conversations.

🧺 Bonus Idea: DIY Nature Tea

If you gathered any herbs like mint or lemon balm, brew a quick tea together when you return. It’s a cozy and grounding way to wind down and brings the whole sensory experience full circle.

Why This Matters

Wellness isn’t just about vitamins or exercise—it’s also about awareness, connection, and feeling safe in our bodies and the world around us. This simple activity plants seeds of calm that can grow throughout your child’s life.

Let your Saturdays be slower, sweeter, and a little more intentional. Wellness doesn’t have to be complicated—it can be as simple as walking barefoot in the backyard and noticing the way the sunlight hits the leaves.

Happy Simple Saturday, friend. 🌞

To those who don’t know me… hi! I’m Jessica 👋

Mama to 2 girls, soon to be wife, a little hippie, a little witchy, a little girly + your whole body wellness bestie 🫶

⬇️ A little about me ⬇️
I always wanted to be a girl mama & I love it!
My oldest goes to a forest school a couple of days a week and I homeschool the rest.
I was born and raised in upstate NY. We lived in Arizona for a few years & loved it there but moved back while I was pregnant with my oldest.
The health and happiness of my family is one of the most important things to me.

I grew up completely “normal”
I ate fast food and microwave dinners, drank juice and soda 😵‍💫
Cleaning products and personal care products were from normal drugstores, Target, Bath and Body Works, etc.

I was sick. All. The. Time.
I was on antibiotics constantly. I’m talking every month just about. I had my tonsils removed, I had mono, I was on an inhaler and couldn’t run or cheer without it. I saw several doctors for stomach issues and nobody seemed to have any answers. Anxiety and stress were running rampant through me in highschool.
I had no answers. In fact it was treated as if it was normal to live and feel this way. The answer was always just more medications.

I really didn’t even think to question anything until I unexpectedly got pregnant with my oldest daughter in 2018. As most mothers do, all I wanted was my child to be healthy.
My parents had raised me in alignment with all the public health recommendations and based on what was “normal” in our society. It is NORMAL to be unwell…

I knew there had to be a different way.

I’ve spent the last 5 years learning everything I can about health. I’m still not perfect but my eyes are open and I work to grow and improve everyday.
I rarely get sick. I do not go to the doctors. I am a runner and I don’t need an inhaler. It literally amazes me how much has changed 🤯
I attribute this change so much to eliminating toxic personal care and cleaning products. This is why I’m so passionate about helping others make safe swaps in their own lives and homes.

Right as I was starting to make changes in my life, while I was pregnant, everything else was changing too. We had just moved across the country back to NY. We were staying with my parents, I was leaving my teaching career and planning to be a stay at home mom for a bit.
We needed some side income to supplement Chris’ salary now that I wouldn’t be teaching. And I needed a purpose and community since I was about to be isolated at home with a baby as a new first time mom.

Someone I had known for years called me to tell me about a company called Crunchi she had partnered with and asked if she could send me some samples. I was skeptical at first but willing to try with an open mind.
I looked into the brand and the ingredients, sourcing, manufacturing, packaging, etc was all 🔥
Then I tried it… and I knew I had hit the jackpot 😍

I wore the foundation for a day and became a customer for life. Every foundation I had ever tried looked either cakey or melted off my face. Finding clean makeup that performed was something I had been struggling with.
I talked to my friend about the company, I talked to my fiance, and even though I had tried direct sales previously without a ton of success I saw how different his company was. I was the insane potential. I saw the mission and the class with sharing. I saw how they are education first and heart forward. Plus I was fired up from learning about how our personal care products are poisoning us and I felt pulled to share this knowledge with other women.

It wasn’t a hard decision to sign up. We needed the income, I loved the products, and I was passionate about the clean beauty message.
I quickly realized Crunchi checked all the boxes for what I needed in my life and some I didn’t even know I needed.
I had a very small circle of friends, a very small family, a very small social media following. But I just started sharing with everyone I could because I knew the information was valuable & life changing.

I’m no direct sales millionaire. But I share what I love everyday and I have fun doing it. I’ve been able to fully fund my daughter’s forest school, organic groceries for my family, pay off my jeep, and more.
This “side income” has made a world of difference for my family and allowed us to live in a way we’d never be able to without it.

Crunchi has been a big part of my journey, especially on social media + I feel so honored to mentor so many women who are not only helping others to reduce their burden, but they’re building income streams for their families too 😍

Routines, Goals, Visualization

Since the start of the new year, I’ve been reflecting a lot and making major changes in my mindset. I’ve been implementing new routines, setting some big, scary goals, and starting to put my faith in the law of attraction and the power of visualization.

I was challenged recently to think about my biggest motivating factors for why I do what I do and while there are a lot of reasons, there were two that stood out to me the most.

One of my top motivating factors for getting up each day and putting in as much work as I can is really finances in general but more specifically being able to either homeschool my daughter or put her in a Montessori school. I have loved every minute of my role as stay at home mom since my daughter was born in November 2018, but sometimes I think about how I’m not using my English/Teaching degree. Homeschooling Adeline would combine two of my passions: being home with my child and teaching.

Another motivating factor is educating women (but more specifically even, moms) about safe products and how to live healthier lives. Finding toxin free makeup completely changed mine and my fiancé’s lives, opened our eyes to all the harmful ingredients in everyday products, and has put us in the direction we want to go for raising Adeline and I want that for other women and other moms so badly!

So, what are some of my big, scary goals? What is my new 5 step morning routine that takes less than 2 minutes and sets the scene for a day of success? What is this visualization and law of attraction I mentioned? Jump on over to my clean living community on Facebook where I’ll be sharing these things live very soon!
