Freedom used to feel like a far-off dream, something reserved for a different season of life, maybe after the kids were older, maybe when the timing was โright.โ But the truth is, freedom doesnโt have to wait. It can start now. And as a stay-at-home mom (SAHM) whoโs also an entrepreneur, Iโve discovered that freedom isnโt about having all the time or money in the world. Itโs about having the choice to live life on your terms.
For me, freedom looks like:
- Slow mornings with my kids instead of rushing out the door.
- Working from the couch while sipping coffee in my favorite leggings.
- Saying yes to playdates or last-minute adventures without checking in with a boss.
- Creating income while still being the one whoโs always there for schooling, sick days, and bedtime routines.
- Showing my kids what it looks like to chase dreams, work hard, and build something meaningful, not just for income, but for impact.
And sure, there are moments of chaos. There are days when the laundry piles up, the to-do list overflows, and someone always seems to need a snack. But thereโs also this deep satisfaction in knowing that I didnโt have to choose between being present and having purpose. I get to have both.
Entrepreneurship has given me a kind of freedom thatโs measured less by hours and more by moments: the mid-day dance parties, the flexibility to pivot when life throws a curveball, and the pride of building something thatโs mine.
So this week, I challenge you to ask yourself:
What does freedom really look like for you?
Maybe itโs more time, more flexibility, more alignment with your values. Maybe itโs waking up each day excited to pour into something that lights you up, something that doesnโt ask you to choose between your family and your calling.
You donโt need to wait for the perfect time. You just need to start.
Because freedom isnโt a far-off dream… itโs a mindset, and itโs available right now.
