Summer Days at My House Look Like This…

There’s something special about summer with kids. The slower mornings, the sticky popsicle fingers, the sound of giggles echoing down the hallway. And while it’s definitely not always calm or picture-perfect, these days have a rhythm I’ve come to love.

At our house, summer days start with our wellness routine.
Before the chaos kicks in, we all take our jellies… yes, even the kids! It’s become a simple, feel-good habit that supports our mood, immune system, and focus (which we all need when school’s out and patience runs thin). I love that they think of it as a treat, not a supplement, and it sets the tone for the rest of the day.

Then it’s usually off to the playground.
We walk there together; sometimes stopping to look at bugs, sometimes sprinting the whole way, and sometimes just holding hands in peaceful silence. It’s these small, ordinary moments that anchor me. Movement, sunshine, fresh air… it’s a reset for all of us.

Later in the day, when the heat peaks and everyone’s a little tired, it’s couch time.
Snuggles, cartoons, books, maybe a little quiet bickering over which show to watch. I’ll sip on my favorite THC & CBG drink during this time… it helps me unwind without knocking me out. Just enough to smooth the edges and help me be present instead of overwhelmed.

We’re not doing big vacations this year. No elaborate bucket lists.
But we are making memories:
• Laughter on swings
• Afternoon snacks and sidewalk chalk
• Evening meltdowns followed by hugs
• And slow, intentional moments I’ll never get back

Summer days at my house aren’t perfect.
But they’re ours. And I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
